QI

Quality Improvement Projects Specialist 

  • Reports to Meghan Powers, Quality Improvement Manager
  • Department: Operations > Quality Improvement
  • Proposed Title: Quality Improvement Projects Specialist

Role Summary:

o   The member will serve to expand the capacity of our population management efforts, particularly as they relate to our patient portal. The member would become an internal expert on the portal and support VFC staff in leveraging the portal to improve the health of our patients.

o   Key tasks will include monitoring flow of messages, providing training to staff and volunteers, running reports on portal usage, reaching out to patients for recommended care via portal messages, telephone calls, and letters.

Desired Qualifications:

o   Strong computer skills and mastery of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

o   Proven success working on projects as a team as well as independently

o   Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)

o   Spanish bilingual preferred

Special Events & Fundraising Coordinator

  • Reports to Erin Harnisch, Director of Special Events
  • Department: Development & Fundraising > Special events
  • Proposed Title: Special Events & Fundraising Coordinator

Role Summary:

o   We are looking for a dedicated team member to help us raise the critical funds needed to provide 24,000 individuals with primary and specialty medical care, dental, vision, women’s health, health education and behavioral treatment.

o   The member will gain valuable experience in the fast-paced world of special events, fundraising, and nonprotfits. Special events include but are not limited to the Venice Art Walk (hosted at Google’s LA HQ, 6000 attendees, $800k raised), Silver Circle Gala (hosted at the Beverly Hilton, 500 attendees, $1.5 million raised), Children’s Holiday Movie (hosted at the Howard Hughes Center, 1000 attendees, $150k raised) and various Angel Events for our highest levels of donors

o   Tasks may include RSVP management, artist lists, auction bid sheets, marketing images, event forms, email coordination, shipping & receiving of artwork, guerrilla marketing and phone banking

Desired Qualifications:

o   Highly detail-oriented and exceptional organizational and communication skills

o   Highly skilled in Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with Microsoft Access and Publisher desirable but not required

o   Experience in Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat) is a plus

o   Proven success working on projects as a team as well as independently

o   Thrives in a dynamic and fast pace environment, entrepreneurial

o   Valid California driver’s license and access to a car

o   Experience or interest in fundraising, special event planning, or arts

 

 Homeless

Homeless Outreach Coordinator

  • Reports to Karen Lauterbach, Director of Community Programs and Advocacy
  • Department: Operations > Community Programs and Advocacy
  • Proposed Title: Homeless Outreach Coordinator

Role Summary:

o   The VISTA will be working with vulnerable populations that are currently experiencing homelessness.  This position would be to enhance our current medical model to incorporate other items that support the health of a patient.

o   Tasks may include working on incorporating support for food and water insecurity, employment, housing and tackling other social determinates of health that are prominent in this community.

o   Role will include either forming or strengthening relationships with community partners and leveraging these ties to provide enhanced services.  Another component will be to create a system to engage patients to participate in creating support materials and services that are geared to those experiencing homelessness.

o   Strong computer skills and mastery of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

o   Proven success working on projects as a team as well as independently

o   Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)

o   Experience or interest in assisting marginalized populations

o   Spanish bilingual desirable but not required

 

 Volunteers

Volunteer Services Coordinator

  • Department: Operations > Volunteer Services
  • Proposed Title: Volunteer Services Coordinator

Role Summary:

o   The Venice Family Clinic’s Volunteer Services Department provides support all departments throughout the clinic. This would be an ideal role for someone that is interested in learning more about nonprofit management and community health centers.

o   Tasks would include recruitment. screening, placement, training, and retention of qualified volunteers who can help carry out our mission of providing quality healthcare to people in need.

o   Depending on the intern’s experience and qualification, this role may include managing Special Event and Clinical Volunteers as well as Physician and Specialist recruitment.
