Volunteer Parking, Logistics, and FAQs:

  • Parking [WALGROVE ELEMENTARY, 1630 Walgrove Ave.]: All volunteers are asked to park at Walgrove Elementary. A shuttle will pick you up and drop you off on the corner of Hampton and Sunset. Walk through the event and report to Volunteer Check-In near the corner of Rose Ave and Hampton Drive . Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled shift. Shuttles will be available as early as 7am and run until 8pm.

Parking (Walgrove)


  • LATE EVENING SHIFTS — Parking buses may not be avialable at the end of your shift. We encourage you to find local street parking OR park in the VFC lot (307 6th Ave, Venice, CA 90291). DO NOT parking in the lot between the admin and clinic building, as this is where we will be unloading.
  • Volunteer Check-In (320 Hampton Ave): Volunteer Check-In is located near the corner of Rose Ave and Hampton Drive. The shuttle from Walgrove will drop you off in front of the event. Walk through the event (along Hampton) to find Volunteer Check In. Volunteers need to walk through the event and report to Volunteer Check-In towards the corner of Rose Ave and Hampton Drive.

  • You will receive the following items at Volunteer Check In:
    • Name Tag and Wristband (necessary to get into Google building)
    • Venice Art Walk T-Shirt (free) – shirts run very small so please size up as needed
    • Snacks and Water (free)
    • Volunteer Cheat Sheet & FAQs (hard copy)
  • Can I go inside of Google or check out the Community Celebration?  YES – Volunteers are welcome to enjoy the Silent Auction and Community Celebration before or after their shift, as this is all free and open to the public! We do ask that you refrain from drinking any alcohol before your shift, but you are very welcome to partake in the $7 beer and wine after your shift and if you are over the age of 21.
  • Can I go on the Studio Tours? IT DEPENDS – Volunteers are welcome to purchase a $50 Studio Tour ticket and view the participating studios as long as this does not conflict with their scheduled shift. Studio Tours are 12pm-4pm.

Volunteer Dress Code / What to Bring / Food:

  • What do I wear? Shirts will be provided, but we suggest wearing a light undershirt. Please wear close-toed shoes and shorts of appropriate length or pants. Denim is allowed, but no distressed or tattered jeans are allowed.
  • What should I bring? Hats, sunscreen, and cash for food. Unfortunately, there will not be secured storage available. For your security, we highly suggest cross-body bags or fanny packs that will allow you to keep your belongings/valuables with you at all times.
  • Will there be food? Each volunteer will be provided with water and light snacks. Take care to eat a hearty meal before your shift, as there will not be a meal break. Please plan to bring cash for you to purchase yourself meals before or after your assigned shift.

Restrooms: Porter potties will be available during the event from 11am-6pm or until capacity is met. Restrooms will be available at Walgrove Elementary. NOTE FOR EARLY MORNING SHIFTS please be sure to use the facilities at Walgrove as needed because no restrooms will be available at the event site until 11am or so.

Service Hours: If need a proof of service to be signed, please be sure to discuss this at Volunteer Check-In. A staff member will need to document your ARRIVAL and DEPARTURE time. We ask that you return to Volunteer Check-In to “check out” in order to receive credit for your service hours.
