Nichols Beach House
Maya Lin Studio
In Maya Lin’s first built project in the West, a floating wood box – the owner’s art studio – connects to the elegant volume of the house with a sheltered, multi-level deck; boundaries between indoor and outdoor are blurred, and the house becomes a calm refuge by the sea.

The Guitar House
Studio of Glenn Williams Architect
Architect and owner Glenn Williams was inspired by an early Picasso painting of a guitar to create a duplex that’s not only extremely sustainable, but also a beautiful and thoughtful environment built on the sand dune where an original Z-Boy’s surf shack once stood.
