Art & Architecture Tour A Stroll Down Architects' Alley: A Historic Walking Tour of Rustic Canyon Saturday, May 16, 2009

Curated and led by Marmol Radziner and Associates, this tour will begin with a lunch and presentation by Leo Marmol, FAIA, and Tony Merchell, architectural historian, at the historic Rustic Canyon Community Center. Groups will be led on an informative walking tour of this architecturally bountiful neighborhood, past projects by renowned architects, stopping to tour selected houses representing the old and new.

Registration: opens at 11:30 am, Rustic Canyon Community Center, 601 Latimer Road, Santa Monica, free parking

Presentation, Lunch and Tour: noon to 4:00 pm

Tickets: $175 per person, includes lunch, as well as private cocktail reception at Dogtown Station Lofts following the tour. Tickets extremely limited and must be purchased in advance. All guests receive a complimentary copy of Dwell at registration and may enter to win one of ten annual subscriptions! All advance ticket buyers receive a $15 discount to the Dwell on Design Exhibition, June 27-28, 2009.

Hightree House, 2003 Marmol Radziner and Associates A house designed to work with its site, conformed around three sycamore trees. Living spaces are lined windows and skylights, bringing in light from the shaded canyon and allowing constant interaction with nature.
